Marissa Alaniz is a Latina actor, writer, director, and burlesque performer based in NYC, though she splits her time between both coasts. Originally from San Antonio, TX, she earned her Associate’s Degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Los Angeles) and her BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she also minored in Linguistics and received an Outstanding Achievement in Studio Award. Most recently, she can also be seen in the upcoming film ‘Find Her’, which is set for worldwide distribution through Kaczmarek Digital Media Group.

As a writer, her work has seen nationwide, including The Chain Theatre (NYC), Mad Cow Theatre Company (Orlando, FL), and Zeider’s American Dream Theatre (Virginia Beach, VA).

Marissa is also a trained singer who is proficient in rock, pop, musical theater, and opera. In 2020, she co-founded the Imaginarium Theatre Company, a non-profit theatre collective dedicated to inclusion, sustainability, and social justice. She is thrilled to serve as Director of New Play Development, and hopes that the work done by Imaginarium will help shape the world of theatre for the better.
